Gone are the days when you saw your first ever strand of graying hair and freaked out. Nowadays women are embracing their natural beauty and this includes silver locks. For women who want to blend their natural grays with the rest of their mane, a good hair colorist can help. Take stylist Jack Martin,  an expert in silver and gray color transformations, who's been creating incredible looks for women with gray hair.  Some of them go fully silver and others may opt for a stunning salt-and-pepper blend. "My clients with naturally gray hair come two or three times a year, instead of every few weeks," Martin told Allure. "Some clients have salt and pepper mostly in the front and the back is darker, so I match that and add some darkness to it," Martin said. According to The New York Times, he's even had clients like Jane Fonda, Sharon Osbourne, and Andie MacDowell.

Many clients spend anywhere from 6 to 14 hours on the stunning mane makeover. “There are many kinds of gray and silver,” Martin said. “There is blue silver, white silver, silver-silver, charcoal silver, even lavender silver.” He explained that this is “why we have to formulate based on the client.” He uses a color extractor to remove any remaining artificial color and spends hours bleaching all of his client’s treated hair except for the roots. After this, he mixes a chemical version of the client's natural color, which will then match what continues to grow. Check out some of his gorgeous transformations below:

There's also a gray hair movement that's on the rise on social media. Described as “a radical celebration of the natural phenomenon of grey hair”, @grombre is a trending Instagram account that offers a space to celebrate women who choose to embrace their natural gray strands. Not only does it show beautiful photos it also adds moving quotes from women on what the hair color means to them. It was started by Martha Truslow Smith who told CafeMom, "I was scared to be in my early twenties without the dye I ‘knew’ I needed in order to be accepted. In my early Grombre months (those dreaded first three 'did she skip her hair appointment' months) I scoured the web only to find the hotter-than-I’ll-ever-be, trendy, Kardashian-esque twenty-somethings dyeing their locks to resemble what they call, ‘granny hair’ -- and let me tell you, that didn’t help. I knew that if I was going to grow my natural hair out, I needed a substantial resource that would help me shake off any negativity directed my way and encourage me to focus on my goal of embracing myself. This resource didn’t exist, so I created a little Instagram community, Grombre, that just so happened to have been found by a few other women who felt just as I did."
