Alan Hamel and Suzanne Somers have been married for 45 years and they still hold hands while sleeping.

Suzanne Somers is well known as an amazing singer, actress, and author and is now a successful businesswoman as well. Somers is also very passionate about her love life and makes constant efforts to keep her marital life magical. Recently, Somers shared a beautiful now-and-then picture with her husband Alan Hamel, on Instagram. She captioned the picture: "Still smiling 55 years later #TBT." The collage featured a throwback photo from years ago and another more recent photo side-by-side, with both snaps showing the couple smiling and clearly in love.
It was on the set of the Anniversary Game, where Suzanne was a prize model at the time, that the couple first got to know one another. After spending a decade together, they both decided to get married in 1977, Closer Weekly reported. Alan once stated that although the couple initially quarreled like dogs, they resolved their differences quickly and are now inseparable. It also wasn't easy for them to make their respective families blend together.
For Somers, Hamel is her business partner, lover, friend, and companion. Somers said that she starts to miss him even when he is in another room. The secret of how things are so great between and Hamel and Somers is that they give each other a lot of attention.
Somers said, "We give each other a lot of attention. That seems simple, but you'd be amazed at how many couples don't remember to give one another a lot of attention," according to Us Weekly.
Somers still has cute moments with her husband and it still feels like a honeymoon phase for them. She explained how she loves to cuddle him and rub his hair. Meanwhile, Hamel never shies away from calling her beautiful.
Somers stated: "It’s not, like, a chore for us. I love to hug him and rub his hair. He tells me I’m beautiful all the time and we hold hands while we sleep. It’s the most beautiful part of my life."

On their 44th anniversary, Somers posted a cute video featuring some adorable photos of the couple. In the post caption, she expressed how much she loves being Hamel's wife. She wrote: "My darling, @therealalanhamel - how I love being your wife. Married today 44 years and together 53 years! I don’t want to spend a day without you. What a life! Happy Anniversary! Thank you to @brucesomersjr and @carolinesomers for this beautiful video."
In a statement to PEOPLE, Somers explained how the romance in her life with Hamel is not "old people" romance. She said "we are so content together. We dance together, and we have a cocktail together at night. It’s romantic and sexy. And it’s not old people romantic. It’s cool!”
Somers and Hamel use an organic diet, yoga, and supplements, and focus on "eliminating stress" to maintain a young and healthy lifestyle.
