Sarah Everard Was Strangled To Death By Met Cop, Post Mortem Reveals

33-year-old Sarah Everard 'vanished' while walking home from a friends house on March 3. Her body was found in a builder's bag in Kent and she had to identified by her dental records. New post-mortem results revealed that Sarah died from a compression to the neck, reported The Sun

 



 

In their statement, the Metropolitan Police said, "A post-mortem examination into the death of Sarah Everard held at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford has given cause of death as compression of the neck. Sarah's family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers." During the hearing in March, the medical cause of her death was not established yet. However, it was established that no natural disease was found which would have caused her death leading to further checks to establish how she died, according to The Sun. 

 



 

The outlet explained that Sarah had vanished after leaving a friend's home to walk the 50-minute journey back to her flat in Brixton. A CCTV footage from Clapham showed Everard
spending 15 minutes on the phone with her boyfriend around 9:30 pm and that was the last anyone saw of her until her body was found. Her body was discovered a week later in woodland Ashford, Kent. Wayne Couzen, 28, a serving police officer who joined the Met Police in 2018, has been charged with Sarah's kidnap and murder. He due to go on trial in October.

 



 

Sarah's death sparked vigils across the country and demands for action to tackle violence against women. Her family said in a statement, ‚ÄúSarah was bright and beautiful - a wonderful daughter and sister. She was kind and thoughtful, caring and dependable. She always put others first and had the most amazing sense of humour. She was strong and principled and a shining example to us all. We are very proud of her and she brought so much joy to our lives," reported The Sun.
