Sandra Bullock has been at the forefront of charities over the years. However, she is not looking for attention.

Sandra Bullock has been America's sweetheart for a very long time. For over three decades, she has mesmerized us with her brilliant acting and strong personality. Sandra, who has proved her acting talent has also established herself as a producer. Apart from being a massive success in the industry, she is also a mother and a philanthropist. Over the years, she has used her fortune to help and support those in need. Though it is common to hear about celebrities working with charities, Sandra is a private person who believes in making a change discreetly. Her generosity has made a difference in the lives of many people.

According to E!, the Miss Congeniality actress has been at the forefront of helping people during disasters. Since 2001, she has reportedly donated $5 million to Red Cross to restore lives after various disasters. During Hurricane Harvey, an official statement by the organization stated that the modest actress had given $1 million towards the relief funds. “Having someone like Sandra Bullock make this kind of commitment, it helps bring people together and open their hearts and be even more generous,” said Elizabeth Penniman, Vice President of Communications for American Red Cross national headquarters to People. The down-to-earth actor responded to it by saying, "... We all have to do our part."


In 2005, she also donated $1 million to help the people caught in Hurricane Katrina. Apart from that, Sandra has also helped build a clinic in the oldest public high school in New Orleans. Other than charities to organizations, she has also come forward to help individuals. When Sandra came to know that Svend Petersen, longtime pool manager of the Beverly Hills Hotel, was going through tough times. The considerate actress donated to the GoFundMe page that was set to help the man. She even wrote, "'Everything is going to be ok!' Louis Bullock (My son)," on the page.


The mother of two has also extended a helping hand internationally. She was there to support the people of Indonesia during the tsunami in 2004, in Hati during their 2010 earthquakes, and in Japan too, during the 2011 earthquake. Sandra, who rarely speaks about any of her donations believes it is important for people to help each other. According to E!, the actress responded saying, "I'm just grateful I can do it. We have to take care of one another."
