Dwayne Johnson is spreading the holiday cheer by gifting his own truck to a fan who really touched his heart. The 49-year-old actor recently shared a wholesome video where he can be seen surprising Navy vet Oscar Rodriguez with his own "personal custom truck." According to PEOPLE, the Red Notice star visited a movie theatre, which was screening his latest film, to surprise his fans. But he had a very special gift for one of them and it was Rodriguez. Dwayne could not help but do something special for him after hearing his life's story.
"Today was a good day. Merry Christmas @coach_orod and enjoy your new truck. I invited fans to a special theater screening of RED NOTICE and I wanted to do something cool for all of them," read the caption of the heartwarming post. "Free concessions, @projectrock, @teremana, @zoaenergy, @saltandstraw ice cream. Free everything and a great time at the movies! I also wanted to do something BIG… something MASSIVE…something unforgettable for one fan," he noted.
Apparently, Dwayne's "original idea was to give away the Porsche Taycan, that I drive in the movie, Red Notice" but when it didn't work out, he decided to give away his own truck. "So we reached out to Porsche, but they said no. But I still said, yes 😉 I'll do one better. I'll give away my personal custom truck as the gift. My baby 😊." The generous actor then went on to explain why Oscar's story moved him so much.
"I gathered as much information as I could about everyone in the audience and ultimately, Oscar's story moved me. Takes care of his 75-year-old mom. Personal trainer. Leader at his church. Provides support and meals for women victimized by domestic violence. Proud & humble Navy veteran. Kind human being. Oscar said it right, just before he drove away ~ it's just love. That's all it is, brother. Just love," continued the actor. "Go enjoy your new truck dude and Merry Christmas to you and your family!!! 👊🏾🛻"
In the clip, Dwayne can be seen asking the veteran to get on stage before telling everyone about the kind man that he is. At this point, Rodriguez seems to be in disbelief that "The Rock" was commending him in front of a huge audience. "I'm just speechless. I did not even know this was gonna happen. This is such a blessing. Man, it's so good to meet you. I feel so encouraged right now. So uplifted. You, You're the man, dude. And I appreciate, I follow you on Instagram. I listen to your words. I'm encouraged by your motivation. Obviously you inspire so many people. You inspire me," the young man, who is overcome with emotions, is heard saying.
"Let's change the world, one person, at a time," the personal trainer added, as Dwayne agreeably said, "This is why I say - Kindness matters." Next, he thanked Rodriguez for his service and guided him outside. "Come here, dude. I want to show you something real quick. I got this. I wrote this card for you. It's a little thing," the Baywatch actor said while handing him a card explaining that the truck now belonged to him. An overwhelmed Rodriguez can be seen dropping to the floor before asking, "What the heck is happening?"
As Rodriguez drove off with his new truck, Dwayne reflected on the priceless moment and said, "[It was] just an honor for me to give a little bit of joy to someone who deserves a lot more than just my truck." He then hilariously added, "And now I can figure out how I'm getting home. Cause I don't have my ride." Later, Rodriguez took to Instagram and shared his feelings about the powerful. "🤯🤯🤯 I have no words to express how blessed and grateful I am !! Again no words only scripture. 😇🙏🏽🙌🏽. With my whole heart, with my whole life, and with my innermost being, I bow in wonder and love before you, the holy God! Yahweh, you are my soul's celebration. How could I ever forget the miracles of kindness you've done for me?" Psalms 103:1-2 TPT," read the post.
