The couple split up briefly in 2016 due to Ozzy being unfaithful but they quickly got back together the same year.
Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne recently celebrated 40 years of marriage. On the occasion of the couple's anniversary, Ozzy posted a touching throwback photo on Instagram from their wedding day.
He wrote in the caption, "40 Years Ago Today! Happy Anniversary My Love." Sharon, 69, is seen in the photo wearing a white gown with a white veil and holding a bouquet of white and pink flowers. Ozzy stands next to her, dressed in a white suit with a vine of leaves hanging over his neck.
Sharon also took to Instagram to mark the occasion. She posted a photo of her holding hands with Ozzy, captioning it, "2022 is a special year for me. It marks 40 years of marriage to my darling Ozzy. We first met when I was 18, over 52 years we have been friends, lovers, husband & wife, grandparents and soulmates. Always at each other’s side. I love you Ozzy."
Sharon and Ozzy married in 1982 and Aimée, Kelly, and Jack are the couple's three children. After 33 years of marriage, the couple briefly divorced in May 2016 after accusations arose that Ozzy had been unfaithful. In September of that year, they reconciled, reports PEOPLE.
Ozzy talked about infidelity in an interview with Rolling Stone, "It's a rock 'n' roll thing—you rock and you roll. You take the good with the bad. When I was a crazy f---er, I'm lucky she didn't walk out." He added, "When I said, 'Don't get caught by your missus,' I'm not proud of all that s---. I upset my wife and I upset my family and I made a lot of shock and shame. I love my wife, and it made me realize what a f----- idiot I've been."
Sharon commented about what made her fall back in love with her spouse the same year on an episode of The Talk, "Thirty-five years with someone is a hell of a long time. And I think I fell out of love with my husband and then fell back again." He was "desperately trying, working his program, working with his therapist every day and trying so hard," she stated at the time. "I just had a newfound love," she added. "And I respected him because he's seriously trying to be a better person."
Sharon said, in June, that she was traveling to Los Angeles to be by her husband's side when he underwent major surgery. She announced the news on The Chat UK, stating that she will not be appearing in person on the British talk program until July.
She said, "He has a very major operation on Monday, and I have to be there. It's really going to determine the rest of his life." She stated at the time that they had no plans to celebrate their 40th anniversary because it depended "on everything with Ozzy."
Following the surgery, Ozzy tweeted an update to his fans. He wrote, "I am now home from the hospital recuperating comfortably. I am definitely feeling the love and support from all my fans and send everyone a big thank you for their thoughts, prayers and well wishes during my recovery."
