Olivia Newton-John Shared a Heartwarming Photo With Husband, John Easterling, Days Before Her Death

The couple fell in love while on a trip to Amazon and got married in 2008.

Olivia Newton-John, the Grease actress, died "peacefully" at the age of 73, surrounded by her family at her ranch in Southern California. Olivia's husband, John Easterling revealed the sad news in a message on her Facebook page and other social media accounts.

However, only two days before the icon's untimely death, recalling the happy times, Olivia had posted a snapshot of herself cuddling up to her loving husband on Instagram.

In the image, dressed in a white, green, and pink flower patterned blouse and blue denim trousers, Olivia is leaning in the arms of Easterling. Both Easterling and Olivia are smiling and looking at a distance, away from the camera. The couple appear content in sweet embrace.

Olivia captioned the photo, "#flashbackfriday ❤️."

Olivia and Easterling married in 2008 after falling in love on a vacation to the Amazon together after an Incan spiritual ceremony.

They kept their relationship mostly private and had been through many ups and downs during their 14-year marriage, per Intouch Weekly. The Grease icon told PEOPLE in 2016, "I dated a little bit, but I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with him and then bam!" She added, "He’s incredibly smart and compassionate. He says yes to everything, he says yes to life!"

Olivia was married to actor Matt Lattanzi for 11 years since December 1984 and had a daughter in 1986, Chloe Rose Lattanzi, with him. Following her divorce in 1995, she dated Patrick McDermott for nine years before he inexplicably disappeared during a boating vacation in 2005. Olivia described the incident as "traumatic."

She stated that Easterling helped her move on from the tragic loss she experienced in her previous relationship with McDermott. She said, "One of the hardest things is not knowing. I’m very lucky I have a wonderful, beautiful husband who is just so loving and fantastic. I always tell my friends you’re never too old to find love. I found the love of my life at 59 going on 60! I’m grateful."

Olivia lost her battle with breast cancer after being first diagnosed in 1992. Easterling announced the news by writing, "Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer."
