John and Olivia married in 2008 and he had been there for her through every obstacle in her life and helped her manage her health as she battled breast cancer.
John Easterling, Olivia Newton-John's husband, is remembering his late wife. As we reported earlier, the legendary singer and four-time grammy winner lost her battle with breast cancer on 8th August.
Easterling announced the news on Olivia's social media pages saying that "Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer." He shared another emotional and heartbreaking message on her social media with a beautiful photo of himself and Olivia. He wrote a message to his late wife and expressed his eternal love and affection.
He wrote in the caption, "Olivia, Our love for each other transcends our understanding. Every day we expressed our gratitude for this love that could be so deep, so real, so natural. We never had to ‘work’ on it. We were in awe of this great mystery and accepted the experience of our love as past, present and forever."
Easterling added, "At Olivia’s deepest essence she was a healer using her mediums of song, of words, of touch." She was "courageous" and her "bandwidth for genuinely caring for people, for nature and all creatures almost eclipses what is humanely possible." He further added, "It is only the grace of God that has allowed me to share the depth and passion of her being for so long. In her most difficult times she always had the spirit, the humor, and the will power to move things into the light."
Easterling concluded the post by writing, "Even now as her soul soars, the pain and holes in my heart are healed with the joy of her love and the light that shines forward. Our family deeply appreciates the vast ocean of love and support that has come our way."
He signed off the sweet tribute with, "Onward Ho, John Easterling."
Olivia was being treated for breast cancer for almost 30 years after being diagnosed in 1992, per TODAY. Olivia and Easterling married in June 2008, after making their relationship public during the Broadway premiere of Xanadu the year before.
The Grease actress formerly married actor Matt Lattanzi, with whom she had a daughter, Chloe Lattanzi. A behind-the-scenes video of their 2021 duet Window in the Wall has been featured in Chloe's homage to her mother. She shared it on Instagram with the caption, "You are my lighthouse mama. My safe place. My heart space. It has been my honor and continues to be my honor to be your baby and best friend."
"You are an angel on earth and everyone touched by you has been blessed. I love you forever my life giver, my teacher, my mama."
