In no time, the 59-year-old new looks captivated her fans who ended up linking the post over 655,000 times
The latest buzz around town is Jada Pinkett Smith's new look. On Monday, The Red Table Talk host shared a picture of her new haircut on Instagram revealing that her daughter, Willow, was the one who made her go for it. "Willow made me do it because it was time to let go BUT … my 50’s are bout to be Divinely lit with this shed❣️😜," read the caption of the picture which featured Jada and Willow with their shaved heads. The post was originally shared by the 20-year-old musician, who wrote, "A gift is pure when it is given from the heart to the right person at the right time and at the right place, and when we expect nothing in return."
In no time, the 49-year-old new looks captivated her fans who ended up linking the post over 655,000 times. Even Beyonce's mother, Tina Knowles, responded to Jada's new look with admiration saying, "It just shows that beautiful face and soulful eyes more prominently." Per Good Morning America, author Lalah Delia shared, "The sacred feminine in you is absolutely beautiful. She is expressing herself to the sacred utmost 😍. You are divine." For some, it was a very inclusive post. "I suffer from alopecia in the same spots...turned 50 last year. You have given me strength to do the same!!❤️❤️" shared one Instagram user praising the mother-of-two.

Another wrote, "I have alopecia from a lack of thyroid and the meds I will have to take for the rest of my life. Only my husband and children have seen me without my wig. You are so brave !! So incredibly brave!! 💓💜💓💜." A third user noted how someone's hair doesn't define who they really are. "Gorgeous either way. Hair doesn’t define who we are. Your light just shined brighter❤️😍," they shared. Yet another user encouraged people saying, "You are beautiful with or without hair 😍 it’s freeing to shave it off. Hair loss is so difficult to accept."
I feel sad for her, my hair is thinning, but I can't imagine how she feels. God bless.— JoElla (@msaspen1) May 27, 2018
While Jada has been switching up her look from time to time, the 59-year-old has struggled quite a bit with hair loss in the past. According to Fox News, Jada had been quite vocal about her "issues with hair loss" as she opened up about it during a Red Table Talk episode in 2018. "It was terrifying when it first started," said Jada. "I was in the shower one day and had just handfuls of hair in my hands and I was just like, 'Oh my god, am I going bald?'" The Gotham actress also explained that it was "one of those times in my life where I was literally shaking in fear."
"That's why I cut my hair, and why I continue to cut it," she revealed. "My hair has been a big part of me. Taking care of my hair has been a beautiful ritual and having the choice to have hair or not. And then one day to be like, 'Oh my god, I might not have that choice anymore.'" But eventually, she shifted her attention to those who have lost their hair due to conditions much worse than what she was dealing with. "I really had to put it into a spiritual perspective, like the higher power takes so much from people," she said at the time. "People are out here with cancer. People have sick children. I watch the higher power take things every day. Looking at it from that context really did settle me."
