Dolly Parton Recreates 1978 'Playboy' Cover For Husband’s Birthday: "He Still Thinks I’m A Hot Chick"

The legendary singer wore a black bustier, a bow tiem and bunny ears in an homage to her October 1978 cover of the magazine.

Dolly Parton got her husband Carl Thomas Dean a pretty special gift for his birthday.  The couple has been together for over 57 years! Parton first met Dean when she was just 18 years old. The 10-time Grammy winner married Dean in May 1966 when she was 20 and he was 23. In 2015, the legendary country singer got candid with PEOPLE about their long-lasting marriage, calling her husband "a good man." "They say that opposites attract, and it's true," she said. "We're completely opposite, but that's what makes it fun. I never know what he's gonna say or do. He's always surprising me. He's a deep person, but he has a great and warped sense of humor. He makes me laugh and entertains me. He's very secure within himself," Parton explained.

Dean has always been rather private and likes to keep away from the limelight. The retired businessman hardly takes part in public events with his superstar wife. "I always joke and laugh when people ask me what's the key to my long marriage and lasting love," Parton told PEOPLE in 2018. "I always say 'Stay gone!' and there's a lot of truth to that. I travel a lot, but we really enjoy each other when we're together and the little things we do." Dean once did make a public statement about the couple's relationship. In honor of their 50th anniversary, Dean expressed his love for Parton. "My first thought was, 'I'm gonna marry that girl,'" Dean said in a statement of the moment they met, according to Entertainment Tonight. "My second thought was, 'Lord she's good lookin'.' And that was the day my life began. I wouldn't trade the last 50 years for nothing on this earth."

Now, for his recent birthday, his 75-year-old wife wanted to make him blush by posing in bunny ears and a bustier. Parton recreated her 1978 Playboy magazine cover in a new photoshoot as a present for Dean. The iconic country singer was 32 when she last appeared on the cover when she appeared on the magazine's October 1978 cover, wearing a strapless top, a bowtie, and bunny ears. The "Jolene" singer previously told 60 Minutes Australia she planned "to be on the cover of Playboy Magazine again. See I did Playboy Magazine years ago and I thought it’d be such a hoot if they’ll go for it – I don’t know if they will – if I could be on the cover again when I’m 75," she said. According to EW, when asked if she'd wear the same outfit on the new cover, Parton joked, "Maybe! I could probably use it. Boobs are still the same."

Well, if Playboy isn't getting Parton on the cover again yet, that's not stopping her! She posted a short video to her social media pages on Tuesday to wish her husband a happy birthday. “Remember, some time back, I said I was going to pose in Playboy magazine when I was 75? Well, I’m 75, and they don’t have a magazine anymore,” Parton quipped. “But my husband always loved the original cover of Playboy, so I was trying to think of something to do to make him happy. He still thinks I’m a hot chick after 57 years,” she added, “and I’m not going to try and talk him out of that.” The video ended with Parton handing Dean a framed copy of her original Playboy cover alongside the 2021 replica. Lucky man!
