Instead of his fame and stardom, the 40-year-old says it's the precious time that he spends with the loved ones that he cherishes.
While working in the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, Chris Evans sure showed how efficiently he can command the attention of the audience. I mean, who doesn't love Captain America? But not many know that the man behind Steve Rogers, a perfected specimen of the experimental super-soldier serum, is a true gentleman who sticks to his roots. Unlike most celebrities who take up residence in sunshiny LA or other celebrity hubs, Evans has chosen to stay at a home in rural Massachusetts, which is a few miles away from where he grew up, per Men's Journal.
Although he looks like a heartthrob who would rather not get tied down anytime soon, Evans actually craves a family complete with a wife and kids. "I really want kids. Yeah, I do. I like pretty pedestrian, domestic things. I want a wife, I want kids. I like ceremony. I want to carve pumpkins and decorate Christmas trees and s**t like that," said the star. If anything, Evans is focused on forming meaningful relationships with people. Instead of his fame and stardom, the 40-year-old says it's the precious time that he spends with his loved ones is something he will always cherish.
"I want to get married, though I want children—to me that's the ultimate thing," he shared, according to E! Online. "When you're old and on your death bed, looking back at your life it's not going to be the films you've made or what you've accomplished, it's the relationships you have. You're survived by things that matter—the people you love and those who love you back." The Knives Out actor is also aware that certain things need to happen before he could finally attain his dream of having a family. "I want it to happen. But there has to be a series of events prior to that which have to fall into place," he told USA TODAY.

"I definitely want children. I definitely want a family. But you cannot put the cart before the horse. The family only works if it's built off the extension of the love you feel for a person. If you all of a sudden want the kid more than you want the relationship, you may be on shaky ground," he continued. Evans is not married yet and it is not for the lack of trying as he understands how complex it is to build a meaningful relationship with someone. "You know, relationships are tricky, there are lot of moving pieces," he said, adding that he knows the secret to a woman's heart thanks to his mother. "My mum told me that the best thing you could give a woman was attention. She said; 'Listen to her instead of trying to impress her,'" he told Cosmopolitan.
"My mum fought for feminism in her day so instilled in me the importance of equality. She taught me so much about women," he explained. Having spent his 20s understanding himself, Evans is ready to settle down. "My 20s was a time for self-exploration and, okay, a little self-indulgence. I'm at the point now where I'm ready to take the next step," he shared in 2014. Although he has played one of the most loved and revered characters in the world, Evans doesn't let fame get to his head and enjoys simple things in life like meeting his parents, siblings, and his tightly-knit group of friends at home. "I was never much of a 'I can’t wait to leave this town' kind of kid," he noted. "This is home to me. I have no desire to lay down roots somewhere else."
