Britney Spears Suffers Miscarriage A Month After Announcing Pregnancy | “This Is a Devastating Time”

"We have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy," Britney Spears and Sam Asghari shared.

A month after announcing her pregnancy with her "miracle baby," Britney Spears disclosed she had suffered a miscarriage.

On Saturday, the pop singer and her fiancé, Sam Asghari, announced the news on Instagram. The statement reads, "It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that we have lost our miracle baby early in the pregnancy. This is a devastating time for any parent."

Spears wrote that they were overtly excited but should have waited to announce the pregnancy for some time, per Good Morning America. She further wrote in the statement, "Our love for each other is our strength. We will continue trying to expand our beautiful family. We are grateful for all your support."

Spears confirmed her pregnancy in an Instagram post on April 11th. She informed her fans that her stomach was growing and her fiancé suggested that it might be just because of food. Spears wrote, "I got a pregnancy test … and uhhhhh well … I am having a baby." Many celebrities congratulated her including Paris Hilton, who commented, "Congratulations sis!! I’m so excited for you!! Love you!!!"

Asghari, 28, also announced the same news on Instagram on the same day. He wrote, "Marriage and kids are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect. Fatherhood is something i have always looked forward to and i don’t take lightly. It is the most important job i will ever do." This would have been Spears' first kid with Asghari, whom she refers to on Instagram as her husband.

In June 2021, while trying to end her 13-year conservatorship, Spears told the court that she wanted to "get married and have a baby." She could not do that before because of the strict conservatorship. After Spears was hospitalized twice for mental health difficulties in early 2008, a judge put Jamie Spears in charge of her life, together with a court-appointed conservator, attorney Andrew Wallet, reports Good Morning America

Jamie Spears stepped down as conservator of his daughter's personal affairs in early 2019, claiming health issues as the reason for his resignation. He kept control of her finances, while a professional fiduciary, Jodi Montgomery, was tasked with overseeing her personal life.

Spears was freed from this conservatorship in November 2021 after a long legal battle. Asghari and Spears met in 2016 and announced their engagement in September 2021. The 40-year-old singer already has two children with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, Sean Preston Federline, 16, and Jayden James Federline, 15.
