"You got three boys? Awesome! My dad did it. My dad raised me," Shelton said explaining his father's influence on his parenting.

In addition to being a great singer and having a cute, goofy smile, Blake Shelton is renowned for being a wonderful husband and father to Gwen Stefani and her children. Gwen, who is herself an incredible singer and fashion designer dated the country music star for a good seven years. Both singing celebrities began dating in 2015, and in 2016, they appeared as a power couple at the Vanity Fair Oscar party and were officially on the list of the best Hollywood celebrity couples. On 03 July 2021, they got married at Shelton's Oklahoma Ranch. Since then Shelton has tried to be a great stepfather to Gwen's Kids.
For Shelton, being a stepfather to the kids wasn't a difficult task. He saw his father raising his stepbrother and he imbibed the same values of nurturing stepchildren. Shelton revealed that his mother already had a baby when his father got married to his mother. He said, "My dad when he married my mom — my mom already had a baby, my brother, Richie." He further added, “He took Richie on and raised him from the time he was 1 year old, and my brother never thought of my dad as anything other than his dad," OUTSIDER reported. Gwen Stefani's kids Kingston Rossdale, 16, Apollo Bowie Flynn Rossdale, 8 and Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale, 14 get along with Shelton very well. Stefani was previously married to Gavin Rossdale and Shelton was married to Miranda Lambert. Shelton further explained, "The example that my dad set for me was that [children were] not even a consideration [in a romantic partnership]. You got three boys? Awesome! My dad did it. My dad raised me."

Just like any quintessential family, Shelton and Gwen's family also have a tradition and it involves cooking. Shelton revealed that they cook together during Christmas and that is their tradition. Talking about how their tradition started, Shelton said "It started one year [when] she wanted to do a beef Wellington, which is not easy, by the way," per USA magazine. They try to ace complicated dishes and challenge themselves with it. Once Gwen shared her cooking experience on her Instagram. She said "Quick update, my ravioli that I made by scratch were terrible." In another video, Shelton was spotted in a conversation with Apollo and he showed how supportive he is towards his wife. He said "Apollo, I thought those raviolis were really good. Did you know that raviolis are a San Francisco treat?" HELLO reported.
Shelton explained in a statement given to Billboard how Stefani saved his life and how she empathized with him during his high-profile divorce from Miranda Lambert. He said "Gwen saved my life. Who else on earth could understand going through a high-profile divorce from another musician? You can't even imagine the similarities in our divorces." When Shelton was named the "Sexiest Man Alive" by PEOPLE, he didn't forget to credit his wife. He said, "She goes, ‘Listen to me, you’re going to regret this for the rest of your life if you don’t take this gift and just live in the moment'."
