Garner and Affleck were married for 10 years and share three children: Violet, 17, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez are now formally married, but not everyone is pleased with the Bennifer union. Violet, the Argo star's oldest daughter with Jennifer Garner, allegedly decided not to attend the wedding in Las Vegas out of respect for her mother, reports PageSix.
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner had shared a thirteen-year-long relationship that started in 2004. The pair tied the knot in 2005 and had three children over the course of their marriage: Violet, 17, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10. The former couple filed for divorce in 2018, and Affleck eventually rekindled his romance with his former girlfriend Jennifer Lopez in July 2021.
Bennifer first started dating way back in 2002 and got engaged that November. They postponed their wedding and eventually called it quits in January 2004. But it looks like the couple got a second chance at love.
Insiders told Page Six that the kids in attendance were Lopez’s child, Emme, 14, and Affleck’s child Sera, 13. Affleck's oldest Violet did not make it to show support to her mom. “Ben did tell Jen about the wedding, but I’m told that it was only Friday at the earliest. It was very, very minimally planned and was largely spur-of-the-moment. Violet stayed home because she’s extremely loyal to her mom,” a source told The Post.

Last weekend, in a chapel in Vegas, surrounded by other couples, they got married.

Affleck confessed that he was going through a rough patch when he was married to Garner. The Argo director said on the Howard Stern Show, "I'd probably still be drinking. It's part of why I started drinking … because I was trapped. I was like 'I can't leave 'cause of my kids, but I'm not happy, what do I do?' What I did was drink a bottle of scotch and fall asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution." The 49-year-old also explained that the reason why their marriage ultimately didn't work out is that they "grew apart." The pair did try their best to make it work, but it did not last. "The truth was, we took our time, we made the decision … We grew apart," Affleck explained. "We had a marriage that didn't work, this happens, with somebody I love and respect, but to whom I shouldn't be married any longer. Ultimately, we tried. We tried, we tried because we had kids. Both of us felt like we don't want this to be the model that our kids see of marriage."
The couple has 5 kids in their blended family including J.Lo's 14-year-old twins Emme and Max. An insider claimed that Garner "has never wanted him to be anything other than happy and sober. I’m sure she wishes him well [on his new marriage].”
Now Affleck has found love again with his former love J.Lo. Lopez announced that she and Affleck got married in Las Vegas on July 17, 2022. "We did it," Lopez wrote on her official website. "Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient." The Marry Me star said that the couple flew to Vegas the prior night and waited for a marriage license alongside four other couples. "They were right when they said, 'all you need is love'," she wrote. "We are so grateful to have that in abundance, a new wonderful family of five amazing children and a life that we have never had more reason to look forward to."
