Bullied For Being "Weird" 9YO Girl With Asperger’s Has An IQ Higher Than Albert Einstein & Stephen Hawking

The youngster is currently pursuing two engineering degrees and plans to become an astronaut and travel to Mars.

Adhara Pérez, a Mexico City native, reportedly boasts an intelligence quotient of 162 and she's just 9 years old! Her IQ is slightly higher than notable geniuses Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking, who each had an estimated IQ of 160. She's breaking misconceptions when it comes to people with developmental disorders. At 3 years old, Pérez was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome, according to the Yucatan Times. When she was younger she was often bullied by many of her peers, who sometimes called her “weirdo” and “oddball.” Pérez is on the autism spectrum and her developmental disorder can cause difficulties with social interactions. “I saw that Adhara was playing in a little house and they locked her up. And they started to chant: ‘Oddball, weirdo!’” her mother, Nallely Sanchez, told the outlet. “And then they started hitting the little house. So I said, I don’t want her to suffer.”

The little girl did not want to go to school anymore and fell into a "very deep" depression despite being a bright student. Her mom realized that it was time to find her daughter a place where she will thrive instead. So she took her to therapy and their lives changed from then on. While her mother always knew she was an intelligent child her extremely high IQ was identified and they were able to figure out an education plan and learning environment that would be more suited to her skill sets. She was able to complete elementary school by the age of 5, middle school by age 6, and she finally graduated high school by the age of 8! She is currently pursuing two engineering degrees at a university in Mexico: one in industrial engineering in mathematics and one in systems engineering. And she's just 9 years old! What are her future plans? Pérez plans on becoming an astronaut and travel to Mars. Considering her many feats so far, this dream might not be too far away!

The youngster plans on going to the University of Arizona, her dream school, which has been recognized by NASA for its space exploration program.  The university’s president, Robert C. Robbins, sent her a letter personally inviting her. “I was thrilled to read about your incredible story online and to find out that your dream school is the University of Arizona,” Robbins said in his letter, according to the Arizona Republic. “We have many outstanding space sciences programs, you would have many opportunities to work side by side with the world’s leading experts… You have a bright future ahead of you, and I hope to welcome you on campus one day as a Wildcat.” The youngster is now learning English to prepare for the opportunity.

According to PEOPLE, the young genius managed to find time to jot down her experiences in a book with a title that roughly translates to "Do Not Give Up". She was even featured in Forbes México‘s 100 Most Powerful Women in Mexico list. She's also putting her advanced intelligence to help others. Vogue México reports that the young girl is developing a new smart bracelet that can help monitor the emotions of differently-abled children. It can help determine and prevent seizures and other outbursts.
